Terminal History

In 1994, Evergreen Group proposed to build a modern container terminal in Panama.  In 1995, after choosing the site and made the viability studies, the Evergreen Group submitted to the Panamanian Government a scheme for the development of a modern container terminal in Coco Solo North.  The Evergreen Group had established a subsidiary company called Colon Container Terminal, S.A. to execute the project and operate the terminal.

The terminal was built in the same place where a former US navy base was in.

In the Phase I were invested 110 million US dollars.

In October 1997, Colon Container Terminal, S.A. started operations, opening a world of opportunities in Panama as an intermodal hub for cargo transshipment.
